The 12th House in Astrology

With this post, we come to an end with the series of Significance of Different Houses in Astrology.
This house is also very misunderstood (as with 8th house) by many people as it is one of the three 'Trik Bhava' or Evil Houses along with 6th and 8th house.

The 12th house becomes very important when it comes to Salvation and hence it is also known as 'Moksha Bhava' i.e. House of Salvation. Together with 4th and 8th houses, this house makes the Moksha or Spiritual Trine in astrology.

Since it marks the end of the series of the houses, it thus completes the cycle of life and its end. This is why this house deals with solitude, detachment and final emancipation. Also deals with enlightenment, attainment of spirituality, renunciation, life after death, hidden practices, taboos, defame, mental illness, grief, past life curses, aloof and abandoned places, occult and black magic practices, etc.

The 12th house primarily deals with the expenditure and sudden losses of the native, hence it is also called as 'Vyaya Bhava' i.e. House of Expenditures and Losses. Impediments, restraint and limitations, waste and extravagance, debts, expenses whether good or bad, investments, donations and charity, etc. is what this house deals with.

This house is of utmost importance to monks, sages, saints, and spiritual healers. Hermits and priests and people who go to foreign lands for spiritual healings,  philanthropists, etc. also have strong 12th house influences.

Misery and misfortunes, sorrow and sin, secret enemies, involvement in any scandal, disgrace and insults, deception, spies, intuitions, subconscious mind, imaginations, etc. come under the domain of this house. If afflicted, one can suffer from imprisonment and frequent visits to the hospital (other things are also taken into consideration in the native chart).

Other aspects dealt by this house are- long-distance travels, foreign settlements, bed pleasures, body disfigurement, business dealings and activities in foreign lands, disgrace in the eyes of the public, endings, departures, karmas, old age, etc. Also represents the paternal uncle (father's brother).

Being the last house, it is naturally ruled by sign #12 i.e. Pisces. The natural planetary ruler is Jupiter. The natural significator of this house is- Saturn.

Body parts ruled by this house - left eye, feet, lymphatic system, immunity, etc.

Stay Blessed!!

The 11th house in Astrology

The 11th house in astrology also referred to as 'Labha Bhav' ie. House of Gains. It is considered one of the most auspicious houses in astrology. It indicates your gains, earnings, profits, income, wealth, prosperity, etc. It also represents your dreams, aspirations, desires and probability of its fulfilment which is why it is also called the  'Kama Bhav' i.e. House of Desires.

It deals with the incoming gains and money you acquire both through your profession (seen by 10th house) and through other sources such as lotteries, gambling, secondary profession or side-business, inheritance or by means of any social group, etc.

This house also refers to your social associations. Type of friends you tend to bond with. The fourth conception of the child, the Stepchildren, the children you adopt and the elder brother also come under the sphere of this house. And whether that would bring gains to you or not is also seen by this house.

It represents our connections of the workplace also. Are these connections for our betterment and gains or if they are not benefitting at all can be analysed by this house. It shows the actual well-wishers, flatterers, admirers, supporters and true advisors of the native. The everlasting friendships and bonds. Also how much inclination you have in humanitarianism.

Foreign dealings and gains, speculations, higher studies, litigation, writers, health and much more. This house is also one of the 'Upachaya houses' i.e House of Growth along with 3rd, 6th and 10th. This means that these houses grow with time for the betterment of the native. And this house is the stronger growing house than the other three.

The 10th House in Astrology

The tenth house in astrology is one of the most significant houses when it comes to Kendra/Angular houses. It is also called as 'Karma House' i.e. House of Deeds. Primarily this house deals with your karmas you perform in terms of your profession and career. Thus this house is also referred to as 'House of Profession'.

A profession is one of the most important aspects of one's life. It supports you and your loved ones with regards to your livelihood and sustenance in the world. Having a strong 10th house and its lords is boon for your profession and it may take you to heights in building a strong career.

#Note: This house is also referred to as 'The House of Father' as this is directly opposite to 4th house which is 'The House of Mother'. Your relationship with father and type of profession he is into can also be analysed by analysing this house.

It tells you a lot about the type of job profile you would be in. Type of work you do. How successful or unsuccessful you'll be in your career. Your gains and losses in terms of profession. Whether you work as a service-man working under somebody or own a business and make others work for you. How many good or bad connections you'll make in your professional arena.

It not only tells about the profession you are pursuing but also about the desires you own for reaching a certain point in your life where you'll ultimately feel contented. It shows your earning capabilities and fame you receive by others. How much respect you will earn by your karmas is particularly seen by this house.

It represents your ambitions, goals, hard work, work ethics and your vitality to pursue what fetches you money, fame and respect. That is why this house is also known as the 'Artha House'  i.e House of Economy. How much determined or lazy you are as a person to follow your career. Will your job profile gives you satisfaction or will it be a burden for you, questions such as these come under the domain of this house.

It deals with your honour, dignity, public esteem, power and prestige, credit and recognition, authority, high posts, success and status, permanence or transition of jobs, promotions, advancement in career, job opportunities, etc. It also shows if a person will get a government job and honour from the same source.

The 9th House in Astrology

The ninth house in astrology also known as 'Dharma Bhava' i.e. House of Religion. It is one of the most important Trine houses along with 1st and 5th. It is also the House of Higher Education and Spiritual bent of mind. Whether the person follows any strict religious beliefs or if he is neutral in his approach. It shows if a person follows spirituality or if he is an atheist. Such a person with a strong 9th house can be a good spiritual guru/teacher as well.

The ninth house is also a very important house as it shows how much destiny favours you. This is why it is also called the 'House of Luck and Fortune'. And since destiny favours one with good karmas, therefore, this house also tells about your morals, ethics, and your good karmas. It tells how much efforts would be fruitful and how much able you would be in shunting struggles and hindrances that come your way.

This house also deals with higher knowledge and how long you would be able to pursue your studies like post-graduation and type of stream you would be following as your higher studies.
Not only this, but it also shows the inclination of your mind towards knowledge of other realms of the world such as the occult, mystical studies and knowledge of tantras.

A strong 9th house also tells how much able a person is to read others' mind as it reflects your psychological and philosophical bent of mind. Such a person can become a good psychologist. He loves exploring different things and believes in innovations rather than mere following of conventional things.

This house stands for the Guru/ teachers in one's life. How good your relationship is with your teachers. And since many of us treat our fathers as our first guru/teacher in attaining the life lessons, this house also refers to as House of Father.
However, the 10th house is primarily the House of Father (in a subsequent post).

This house also deals with long-distance foreign travels and trips. Whether these trips are useful and beneficial for you or in vain, all come under the domain of this house.
It also shows how much involved you are in the planning and taking spiritual trips such as going to pilgrimage or any place of religious significance.

Saggitarius is the natural sign ruler and Jupiter is the natural planetary ruler of this house. The natural significators of this house are Jupiter and Sun.

Body parts ruled by this house are thigh bones and region, hips, pelvic girdle, left leg, bone marrow, spleen and arterial system, etc.

The 8th House in the Astrology

The Eighth House in astrology is a very misunderstood house, according to me, as this house is very often associated with death and miseries. It is considered one of the evilest houses in astrology along with 6th and 12th.

If you ever make horizontal 8, it will appear as the 'Sign of Infinity' and that is what this house deals with - the matters pertaining to life and beyond - the Infinity...

But it is not always the thumb rule, as followed by various astrologers, that the sign ruling the eighth house and the planets sitting in this house would always be malefic. Also, this is a common belief which is followed that the planets residing in this house become weak. However, there are certain factors which deny this belief and hence I always insist on this point that proper evaluation of the entire birth chart is of utmost importance in Predictive Astrology.

This house is also known as 'Ayu Bhava' i.e. House of Longevity. It is also one of the main houses to be considered in order to analyse the time and nature of death, whether it is natural, by illness or accident, etc.

It deals with sudden events of life and speaks volumes about one's entire lifespan. It reflects the baggage of bad deeds or karmas that one is carrying in his lifetime. And hence it shows what all kinds of sudden turns life would take along the journey. The ultimate destination of the soul is to reach salvation and liberation and that is what this house aims for.

This house is primarily the 'House of Transformations' and therefore it becomes the most difficult and incomprehensible house to judge. It reflects the life-changing incidents which not only transform your approach but also you as a person. And these incidents are purely the outcome of the deeds you had performed.
If afflicted, can bring sudden miseries, pain and illnesses while if the benefic influence is there, then the process may seem to be painful but it would be rewarding ultimately.

Other major aspects this house deals with are the hidden secrets of life, supernatural powers, intuitions, knowledge of death and beyond, higher learnings, psychology, metaphysics and psychic healing abilities, mines, research field, the study of buried, archaeological departments, etc.

This house majorly deals with the joint assets or shared finances one holds after marriage along with the spouse and monetary possessions of the spouse. This also tells about the in-laws and relationships with them. How much contribution and support your in-laws have in your life. It represents the wealth you hold by means of inheritance, pensions, wills, insurance, legacy, gratuity, etc.

It can also reflect if there are any suicidal tendencies brewing up inside one's mind. Miseries, sorrows, strife, worries, disgrace, delays, dejection, depression, disappointments, loss, obstructions, theft and robbery, etc can also be seen by this house analysis.

It may sound strange but sex and intimacy with the partner also come under its domain along with 7th house so you can now understand how much broad-spectrum this house has in terms of important aspects of life.

Body parts ruled are the reproductive system, sexual and excretory organs, bladder, scrotum, anus, pelvis, etc.

Being 8th in the series, Scorpio is its natural sign ruler and hence natural planetary ruler is Mars along with Saturn as its natural significator or karaka. Saturn represents karmic debts and its balancing by means of ethical approach towards life. It signifies boundaries, obstructions, delays and dejections also. While the hard work it makes the native perform seems demanding but it is rewarding finally if the integrity remains unafflicted.

So by now, you guys might have realised the significance of this house in terms of so many things in life. There are lot many things associated with this house but mainly it is the above-mentioned what it deals with. The more you come to know about this house, the more you would realise how misunderstood and misinterpreted this house is in relation to the predictive astrology.

That' all for the secrets of the Eighth house. Any question or query is welcomed.

Stay happy!!

Enjoy life!!

The 7th House in Astrology

With today's post, we reach exactly halfway in our series of the significance of each house in astrology. Till now we have talked about how our self, wealth management, siblings, family, children and our health would be, by analysing houses 1st to 6th respectively.

Now, this house is the representation of the people other than self and blood-related family members. This house talks about the people you want to have a partnership with. The people you need to bond with in order to fulfil life goals. Many people out of you consider this house as a House of Marriage and it is true. But it is not limited to this aspect only. It signifies all kinds of partnerships such as business partnerships, legal partnerships, etc. And since marriage is also a kind of commitment and partnership between two individuals who do not share a blood bond, this comes under the domain of the seventh house.

This house is also known as 'Kalathra Bhava' and 'Jaya Bhava' i.e House of Marriage.

Various aspects of this house are as follows:

  • Since this house is exactly opposite to the first house called he Ascendant, this is also known as the Descendant. Thus it tells about the person to are partnered with as in the case of marriage, it shows your spouse traits and characteristics (both physical and mental attributes). It also reflects your marital bliss, happiness, harmony, sexual interest and fantasies, level of commitment, attraction and bonding with the spouse. events pertaining to marriage come under the domain of this house. Quite a lot can be extracted about the spouse, by looking onto the sign and planetary placements in the house.

The 6th House in Astrology

The sixth house in astrology, also known as 'Gyati Bhava' and 'Roga Bhava' i.e. House of Illnesses. It is also called by different names such as 'Trika Bhava'.
It is one of the 'Dushtasthana' i.e. Evil houses along with 8th and 12th houses.
It is also the 'Apoklima Bhava', 'Trishadaya Bhava' and 'Upachhya Bhava' along with other houses that fall in respective categories. This will be further described in detail in future posts.

Like any other house in astrology, this hose also has many aspects that it deals with. It is as follows:

  • It tells about the overall health, fitness and immune system of the native by reflecting about his illnesses and types of diseases one faces in life. It also speaks about one's ability to combat it and whether it would be curable or not, acute or chronic, vulnerable or not, etc.

  • Miseries, accidents, mental anguish and anxiety, injuries, wounds, etc can also be seen from this house. Metal stress or depression and how long would it take to come out of it is also measured by this house along with other houses.

  • It signifies your enemies in any form, hidden or on the face. They can be your rivals in the business, sub-ordinates in your workplace, your friends who turned foe, employees or your true enemies who keep jealousy with you. Hence, by proper analysing this house one can evaluate how strong you are to overcome your enemies and their true hatred or rivalry for you. Or it may refer to your snobbish boss who is a hard nut but then if your 6th house has positive aspects, you can easily crack the nut out of him.

  • This house expresses the karmic difficulties by means of serving others either by being an enemy to that person or an employee serving others, under debts that need to be paid off or it may be in the form of struggles, challenges and hardships one faces. It expresses the job one needs to perform in life even if it is liked or not or been paid for or not. It thus relates to work ethics and self-discipline as well.

  • It also signifies the food we eat, more precisely habit of eating a proper diet, exercise or following a fixed routine for keeping health in check. Such as an afflicted 6th house makes native follow an unhealthy diet, poor exercise routine or no routine at all, which ultimately leads to bad health and even dire consequences in worst cases.

  • It also signifies servants and labour class. In the relationship point of view, it governs your maternal uncles and relatives of your mother's side.

Body parts ruled by the house are Large intestines, kidney, colon, anus, uterus, other parts of the digestive system, etc.

As this house is sixth in the series, the natural sign that rules it is Virgo and hence the natural or default ruler is Mercury.
The natural significators of the house are Mars and Saturn as the former resembles the will and courage to combat the odds and the latter signifies the struggles and hardships of life and the positive effect of both the planets is nothing but the Victory above all odds.

GOOD LUCK!!

The 5thHouse in Astrology

To continue our series further, today let us talk about the mystery of the fifth house. This is one of the most important Trikone or Trine houses along with 1st and 9th house (1st house is both a Quadrant and a Trine house).

This house is also known as 'Putra Bhava' in astrology i.e. House of Children which means progeny, well being of children and happiness of children as well as from children, that one can cherish in life.

It has an eclectic mix of important aspects of one's life. The main areas it deals with as follows:

  • As mentioned above, it deals with matters concerning the children, their conception and gestation period of the foetus. It also tells how smooth or strenuous would be the first childbirth and pregnancy in a female chart. The lord of 5th house and planets residing in it speak a lot about the children, the gender,  and the well being of the 1st child. It also tells how good your relationship with your children would be. It thus tells about the fertility of both the parents in their respective charts.

Note: In a female chart, it shows the course of pregnancy, starting with conception, gestation period, delivery of the child and miscarriages as well. A female's womb is like the earth's lap and whatever the gender of the child would be, is to be seen primarily from her counterpart i.e. male's chart 5th house, its lord and the planets residing in it. This is similar to the seed which gets sown in the Earth's lap and with Earth's nourishment the seed blooms to become a full-fledged plant. Likewise, the Earth's nourishment is the vessel provided by the female whereas the seed is what the male counterpart would render.

  • It shows light on a person's early education and how attentive, focus and visionary the person was as a child in primary sections of education. When it comes to the education of the child and how much involvement one shows in studies,  this is the first house to be analysed, then the other houses are taken into consideration. It also deals with analytical bent and rationality of mind of an individual.

  • This house is also the House of Romance, Affairs and Sexual inclinations along with other houses in the chart. If afflicted, it gives insight to the indulgence in infidelity, illegitimacy, extra-marital affairs, illegitimate children and frequent attractions to the opposite sex out of the wedlock.

  • This house also relates to creativity, innovation, self-expression, artistic inclination, drama and how you like to portray yourself to others. It deals with entertainment, the pleasure you derive by following your creative pursuits, childlike spirit, games of chance as betting and gambling, recreational matters, etc. It also shows how much involvement is there in sports and how competitive the native is.

  • It throws light on how ethical the person is i.e. the virtues and moral values, religious-mindedness, interest in learning and spiritual practices.

  • Body parts ruled by the fifth house are stomach, upper abdomen,  pancreas, spine (upper and middle vertebrae), spinal cord, diaphragm, spleen, colon, liver, gall bladder, etc.

Since it is fifth in series, the default sign ruler is Leo and hence the natural ruler becomes Sun, along with Jupiter as the natural significator as this planet also rules children, fortune and wisdom.

STAY HAPPY AND BLESSED...

The 4th House in Astrology

The Fourth house is one of the four Kendra or Quadrant houses in astrology. It is also known as 'Sukha Bhava' i.e. House of Peace and 'Bandhu Bhava' i.e. House of Relatives. It represents a wide range of areas in one's life, mainly mind and heart peace and domestic happiness.

It primarily indicates Mother and motherland. Family members and relatives who can be well-wisher in your life. Home and its environment. Comforts and pleasures derived from the land and ancestral property as well. It represents the fixed assets and cattle- sheep, goats, buffaloes, etc one owns.

Another important aspect governed by this house is the quantity and quality of vehicles one owns. One's character, good fame and virtues, spiritual inclination, faith to the almighty, family history, traditions, cultures and how well one adapts to societal norms can also be seen from this house. One's material gains and all sorts of tangible wealth including possession of jewels can be seen from the house.
In brief, emotional satisfaction along with material contentment.

It is also one of the important houses to be observed along with 8th and 12th house for matters concerning to attainment of Moksha(salvation). Hence, it not only governs the origin(mother) but also our final resting place, the sole mother of the entire mankind i.e. the Mother Earth. This is how the fourth house is the representation of the complete life cycle and even beyond (salvation).

According to Hora,

"The 4th house is called Hibuka, Sukha (happiness), Yesma (residence), Pathala (underworld), Vari (water) and Bandhu (relatives)."

Change of residence, how well your roots (domestic land) suits you, wells, water, milk, treasures, mining, your relationship with mother, the nourishment and care one receives from mother and your possessions of all material gains along with property and vehicles - all come under the domain of the 4th house.

Since it is fourth (Cancer sign) in the series, the natural ruler of this house is the Moon. The planet Venus is also the natural significator of this house along with Moon.

Third House in astrology also known as 'Prakarma Bhav' or 'Sahaj Bhava' ie. House of Courage and Valour. This house mainly signifies a person's ability to fight back and strength to face the atrocities of life. It shows how hardworking the person is.
It tells us how much perseverance a person can have in the difficult times and how committed one is in performing the duties and responsibilities.

Being next to 2nd house i.e. House of Parents, this house relates to the immediate environment we form after parents and that is our siblings especially younger siblings and one's relationship with them. This relationship is at both the conscious and subconscious level. It also tells about the relation with immediate neighbours and the surrounding environment.

Another major aspect that this house governs is all sort of communication and its modes such as Media, TV, Radio, Internet, Telephone, Social media, Newspaper, Telegraphy, etc. Anything related to exchange of information whether verbal or written is dealt from this house.

Various examples of such are Tourism, Transportation-Railways, Airways, Roadways, Waterways, Media, Broadcasting, Information technology, Journalism, Writers, Publishing, etc.

The third house also deals with one's intellect, aptitude or mental intelligence of the person. It tells us about one's interests and bent of mind concerning hobbies and what a person wants to pursue. This is why it also deals with the quality and type of early education one receives in the primary years of life. It signifies how well the person can grasp the knowledge in his surrounding environment through different modes of communication and then use it as their means of self-expression.

The third in the zodiacal series is Gemini and hence the natural ruler of this house is Mercury which governs intellect, communication and travel. Hence this house is mainly all about this.

The 2nd House in Astrology

Next in the series of Significance of Each House in Astrology, today we gonna talk about Second House in astrology.

This house primarily called as DHANA BHAVA i.e. House of Wealth. From this house, one can greatly judge about the possessions one is going to hold in his lifetime.
Since this house is next to the 1st house, it denotes the people surrounding the self which particularly refer to the domestic life and immediate family members and the environment one is in during the growing years. For this very reason, it is also known as KUTUMB BHAVA i.e. House of Family and the surrounding environment. It also signifies how well your childhood has been spent and how smoothly your growing-up years went. Was it in just a hand to mouth condition, moderate or luxurious? This can also be seen by the condition of the 2nd house.
Since it shows our possessions, hence our family, wealth and virtues are nothing but the extension of our belongings, so these all come under the domain of the 2nd house.

All the money matters, fortune, profits and gains, power and revenues, security, material achievements, jewellery, shares, stocks and bonds, ability to earn, work ethics, inheritance (cash), debts, savings and budgeting, etc. everything related to financial aspect is what 2nd house governs.

The second house also rules right eye, tongue i.e. speech, the lower part of the face, chin, neck, nose, throat and teeth.
A benefic planet in 2nd house gives fluency and great command over speech. Good orators and speakers who have the ability to charm people by their speech, do have good 2nd house generally.

And hence 2nd house is also referred to as House of Speech as well. A good 2nd house also renders great command over languages. Also, such a person is attracted to different kinds of cuisines and always willing to experiment with their food choices.

For example, Rahu placed in this house gives a strong affinity towards non-vegetarian food. However, it also signifies that a person is more prone to lying for petty issues.

Since it is the second house, it belongs to Taurus sign and its natural ruler is Venus. Along with Venus, Jupiter is also the natural significator of this house.

Many astrological texts, refer this house as the MARAKA STHANA i.e. DEATH-INFLICTING HOUSE (along with 7th house).  This is because the lords of 2nd and 7th houses and the planets occupying these houses or any relationship of these planets with the lords of the 2nd and 7th houses are considered as PRIMARY DETERMINANTS of one's death.

So, this is the general outlook of what 2nd house has in stores for you.

The 1st House in Astrology

By now you guys know how to look out for the specific house in the given birth chart. With this post, there is the commencement of fresh series regarding the significance of different houses in the astrology.
To start with, let us talk about the 1st house today!

1st house, as I mentioned in my earlier posts is known as the Ascendant/Lagna/Rising Sign/Rising Star.
To be precise, it is the House of Self.
It is also known as Tanu Bhava in the Vedic astrology (Tanu-Body and Bhava-House).

Ascendant is the most important factor in the horoscope. It is the point in the Zodiac which rises in the eastern horizon on the latitude of the birth. It marks the beginning of life as this is the first house that commences as the sun rises. Since it is first in the series, the  First house naturally belongs to sign Aries which is ruled by the Sun.
The 12 solar months are named after the 12 signs of the Zodiac.
On the first day of Aries, the first degree of that particular sign rises in the Eastern horizon at the sunrise. The remaining signs gradually ascend till the next day at the sunrise when sunrise takes place in the second degree of the Aries sign

Henceforth, the sunrise takes place at the last degree of Zodiac on the 30th day of the Pisces sign when technically solar year ends.
Thus the Lagna/Ascendant is that particular point of the ecliptic considered with reference to the particular horizon.

Therefore, certain periods of time are allotted to each of the Zodiacal signs to rise, the duration of such periods depending upon the latitude of the place.
This is why the place of birth holds so much importance along with time and date of birth in order to fetch an accurate birth chart.

1st House/Ascendant signifies who you are and what you portray yourself to the world. It shows your inner as well as outer self.
It represents your identity, personality, character, temperament, appearance, general body constitution, head region i.e. the upper part of the face, the way you think, brain, attitude towards others and basic approach towards life.

It also signifies overall health and longevity along with other houses. It shows how much zest you have for life in general. It deals with your natural disposition and vitality. Represents fame, vigour, virtues, age and the first impression you have on others. It shows how you want to shape your life as per your basic personality traits and your likes and dislikes. It is also the house representing your strengths and weaknesses as this is what you are made of or gradually acquire as you grow. It is thus one of the most important houses when it comes to making predictions for future events.

It also tells about struggles, success or failures, fortune or misfortune and misery or happiness along with other houses.

There is a lot more significance of the 1st house in Predictive astrology but as far as general features and importance of the house are concerned, this is all that 1st house has to offer us in terms of astrology.

Would love to hear from you guys if any suggestion or doubts are there, feel free to put these in the comment section below...

Exaltation and Debilitation in the Astrology

Have you ever wondered why there are some places where you find yourself a little more comfortable, slightly more empowered and a few tonnes strong? Places which are within your comfort zones. Areas which come under the domain of your command and control.
It is not always necessary to have reasons for all these questions yet there are some undefined links attached which makes you feel that way.

Similarly in astrology also there are some definite placements of planets happening in certain degrees in particular respective signs that make a planet feel strong, empowered and comfortable. Such a position enables the planet to exhibit its results in full-fledged swings. Such placement makes the planet to even reduce or nullify the counteracting negative or mal-effects as well due to bad afflictions or aspects happening on it. This is a state of EXALTATION for the planet. An exalted planet has much higher strength and status. It is able to give expansion, growth, prosperity and happiness in relation to the house it sits in.

The exact opposite scenario happens when you feel tired, exhausted and drained out in places where there are people who have poles apart personality as of yours. Where you have to constantly put efforts to fit in the environment and gell with the surroundings. This place is nowhere near to your comfort zone. Despite your endless exertion, you don't tend to achieve the desired success. Consequently, you feel helpless, hopeless and weakest in this case.

Likewise happens with the planets too. When planets come under the inimical sign where it feels at its lowest strength, it gets debilitated and such state is called DEBILITATION for that planet.
In such case, the planet feels drained and exhausted and thus, not able to exhibit its effects in toto. It becomes weak and hence gets unable to combat the mal effects that get imposed on it due to bad afflictions.

So let us see in which sign and within what degrees range the planets get EXALTED:

  • Sun: Aries- 10 degrees
  • Moon: Taurus- 3 degrees
  • Mars: Capricorn- 28 degrees
  • Mercury: Virgo- 15 degrees
  • Jupiter: Cancer- 5 degrees
  • Venus: Pisces- 27 degrees
  • Saturn: Libra- 20 degrees
  • Rahu: Taurus- 20 degrees
  • Ketu: Scorpio- 15 degrees

DEBILITATION signs of the planets and degrees range:

  • Sun: Libra- 10 degrees
  • Moon: Scorpio- 3 degrees
  • Mars: Cancer- 28 degrees
  • Mercury: Pisces- 15 degrees
  • Jupiter: Capricorn- 5 degrees
  • Venus: Virgo- 27 degrees
  • Saturn: Aries- 20 degrees
  • Rahu: Scorpio- 20 degrees
  • Ketu: Taurus- 15 degrees

So in the above figure,

  • 1st House- In sign #4 i.e. Cancer, Jupiter is exalted.
  • 4th House- In sign #7 i.e. Libra, Saturn is exalted
  • 7th House- In sign #10 i.e. Capricorn, Mars is exalted
  • 9th House- In sign #12 i.e. Pisces, Venus is exalted

Disclaimer: This is the general information regarding EXALTATION and DEBILITATION of planets. There are other phenomena which occur in the astrology where there is a cancellation of these states. For the purpose of PREDICTIVE ASTROLOGY, one needs to be aware of other combinations and planetary placements also such as NEECHA-BHANGA RAJ YOGA and all, where even the DEBILITATED PLANETS become exceptionally strong to exhibit powerful wealthy yogas. Hence a proper analysis of a birth chart is essential so as to have precise and accurate predictions.
So don't get frightened even if any of your planets are in its debilitation signs. There are lot many other things that are taken into consideration.

STAY HAPPY AND BLESSED!!

The Birth Chart Part -2 ---- Planets and Sign Relationships.

Hola guys!!

This post is in continuation to my previous post wherein we got to learn about the basics of the Birth chart along with the significance of the Signs.

In this post, we will get to know about the Planets and their relationships with each sign. This is a part of Birth chart only but I preferred to make a separate post so that there should not occur any sort of confusion amongst you all.

So whenever you see any birth chart, you notice some alphabets along with signs such as:

Now, this is how any random birth chart looks like. You never see a birth chart only with signs. There is always the representation of planetary placements along with degrees and minutes each planet holds residing in any house under specific sign as shown above.

Below are the abbreviations of planets, generally used in the Vedic astrology:
  • Asc: Ascendant
  • Su: Sun
  • Mo: Moon
  • Ma: Mars
  • Me: Mercury
  • Ju: Jupiter
  • Ve: Venus
  • Sa: Saturn
  • Ra: Rahu
  • Ke: Ketu

#Note: Hence, in the above figure, in the 1st house- Asc i.e. Ascendant is 2 degrees and 41 minutes in sign #11 i.e. AQUARIUS.

Likewise in the 2nd house - Ve i.e. Venus is 17 degrees and 54 minutes in sign #12 i.e. PISCES.
And this is how the chart interpretation goes......

Now let us talk about the lordship or rulership these planets have in relation to the Signs(Rashi).

  • Sun-  Leo
  • Moon- Cancer
  • Mars- Aries and Scorpio
  • Mercury- Gemini and Virgo
  • Jupiter- Sagittarius and Pisces
  • Venus- Taurus and Libra
  • Saturn- Capricorn and Aquarius
  • Rahu- Aquarius (along with Saturn)
  • Ketu- Scorpio (along with Mars)

So in the above-mentioned chart, the only planet which is in its own sign is Mo i.e. the Moon which is under sign #4 i.e. Cancer sign, in the 6th house along with Sa i.e. Saturn.

Hope you guys can now judge by looking at any chart that which planet is SWAGRIHI i.e. in its own sign.

XOXO.......

The Birth(Natal) Chart in the Vedic Astrology- Houses and Signs

 Hello Everyone!!

Today we gonna know about the Birth or Natal chart in the Vedic astrology. Also, refer to as Kundli or Janampartrika in Hindi.
A Vedic birth chart is the astrological representation of the planetary placements and combinations at the time one takes birth.

It can be in North-Indian style, South-Indian style, so on and so forth. But the one I am gonna refer to in my this and subsequent posts would be of former kind i.e. the North-Indian style of the Birth chart as the latter is a tad complex due to the Ascendant that keeps on changing(it is constant in North-Indian style of birth chart) and also there are many other factors.

One needs to know his/her exact date, time and place of birth to have an accurate generation of the birth chart be it from any software.

To start with, let me show you how a default birth chart looks like:

                                          Fig.1

As you guys can appreciate in the picture above, there are 12 boxes which are called the 12 Houses of the birth chart.

                                          Fig.2
KENDRA/ANGULAR HOUSES

                                          Fig.3
                      TRIKONE/TRINE HOUSES

The square boxes are called Kendra/Angular Houses while the triangular boxes are called Trikone/Trine Houses (there are many categories of houses which we will be dealing in subsequent posts).

                            Fig.4

Starting from the centre-top box mentioned in the above picture, called the 1st House or Ascendant or Rising Star/Sign or Lagna(it never gets changed in any birth chart, it remains constant i.e. you cannot consider this house and 2nd house, 3rd house etc. etc in other charts. 1st house is always the 1st house). From here, we count the subsequent houses in the anti-clockwise direction till the 12th House(immediate right to the 1st House).

All these houses signify different aspects of one's life such as personality, wealth, siblings, marriage, career, etc, etc. We will be dealing with it in details in future posts.

Now let us take an example of any random birth chart:

                            Fig.5

Here, you would observe that some numbers or digits are being mentioned in each house. Don't get confused with this as the sequence of houses. Let me tell you what these digits in each house signify.
These numbers are nothing but the Signs(Rashi). These are 12 in number signifying the 12 signs of the Zodiacal Belt.

For the purpose of Predictive Astrology, 27 asterisms(Nakshatras) and 9 planets have been taken into consideration. The Earth and the other planets revolve around the Sun through a certain path in the heavens. This path is referred to as Ecliptic. On both sides of the Ecliptic, there is an imaginary belt of 9-9 degrees each inside which all these planets revolve. This broad belt, a total of 18 degrees, is called Zodiac.

To facilitate the study of astronomy, Zodiac has been divided into 12 equal parts. Each part is called a Sign or Rashi. These are:

  1. Aries (Mesha)

  2. Taurus (Vrishabha)

  3. Gemini (Mithuna)

  4. Cancer (Karka)

  5. Leo (Simha)

  6. Virgo (Kanya)

  7. Libra (Tula)

  8. Scorpio (Vrishchika)

  9. Sagittarius (Dhanu)

10. Capricorn (Makara)

11. Aquarius (Kumbha)

12. Pisces (Meena)

#Note: This sequence of signs never changes, it is constant i.e you can't put Gemini in 6th position or Cancer in 7th position. Gemini and Cancer always hold 3rd and 4th position in the sequence respectively.

So, for the above fig.5, the 1st house has sign #10.
Hence, the Ascendant for this chart is CAPRICORN.

Now you know that there are 12 Houses and 12 Signs/Rashis.
Houses' number is constant and it never changes while each sign in a definite sequence, as mentioned above, keeps on changing its house every 2 hours (as there are 24 hours in each day and 12 signs in total).

For example (random): If Aries i.e. sign #1 sits in the house no. 1 at 6:00 am then it will move to house no. 12 around 8:00 am (the exact time is counted from the exact time of sunrise). Therefore, in a similar sequence Taurus i.e. sign #2 will occupy the house no. 1 around 8:00 am as Aries has moved to house no. 12. Similarly, around 10:00 am Gemini ie. sign #3 will move to and occupy the house no. 1 as Taurus now moved to and Aries moved to house no 11. and this is how houses remain constant and the signs keep on changing the houses every 2 hours sequentially.

I hope guys, you are now clear as to how the birth chart per se looks like for there is no use of discussing the planets and signs and all without the basics i.e. the natal/birth chart.

For any further questions or if you have any doubts, you may ask in the comment section below.

Stay blessed and happy.
